On Jan. 2, 2026, after contacting Service Experts, the tech Todd came to confirm my suspicion on why my two new Lennox air handlers were not producing heat. Todd was great and professional, he answered my questions and explained things that I had asked. It was Todd that informed me Lennox might have had a shortage of the heating elements that should have been installed with my two new air handlers. I looked forward to Service Experts to return and install the two missing heating elements that my previous installer failed to disclose. Through Costco, Service Experts wasn't my original installer of the two Lennox systems, it was Cool Bear Services, one issue leads to another with my previous installer. Here is my history with them: Cool Bear Services was Costco's contracted installer on my two new completed Lennox AC systems (2 airhandlers and 2 outside AC units) installed at the end of May 2025. I didn't have a choice to choose the installer. Cool Bear Services closed permanently at the end of Oct. 2025. They were not taking any service call after Oct 2025, they will only return your message if it was a permit issue per their voice messaging. I didn't know that they had permanently closed until Dec 31, 2025, when I first attempted to use the heater for the first time after the installation. Outside temp was in low 40s, that day, so it was a bit chilly morning inside the house. Having been an homeowner for many years, I have some knowledge of AC systems and how it work and trouble shooting issues. I paid $28K later and no heat for the installation and equipment? Are you kidding Cool Bear Services? They failed to inform me at the time of installation that the two airhandlers did not have the heating elements installed, supply issue??? Cool Bear Services only checked for coolant leaks and etc. on the cooling side of the Lennox System after the installation but not the heating side. I assumed at the time that the heating elements were already installed. So fast forward to the present date, now i know why they didn't. This wasn't the first issue with Cool Bear either, they failed to switch out one of the circuit breakers to a higher amp to match the 3 ton unit, I had texted and emailed their in-home consultant about this failed inspection matter, They didn't returned my text or email. I decided to get the $18 part from Lowe's and install myself to pass on the second inspection. After the issues that I have been encountering with my current Lennox systems, Cool Bear Services closed permanenty after Oct 2025 per their website and voice mail is beyond my guess. Lesson learned make sure your installer performed both cooling and heating checks before they leave the work site. Granted we live in Florida and don't use the the heater often, make sure you have heat before hell freezes over Florida the next time when you need it.
