What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most usual air conditioning problems in Canada.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these matters, you may be able to discover the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause huge cooling issues. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be all set. Remember that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.
