Get Excited for These New Shows This Season Published on September 21, 2016 It’s finally beginning to cool off but primetime television is heating up! Since you will probably be spending more time indoors during the upcoming months, Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with the premieres that we’re excited for this season. So get ready to curl up with a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate while you settle in for a TV-packed season. Chicago Justice (Sundays on NBC) Our hearts were won over by the firefighters and EMTs at Firehouse 51. Then after a few new characters popped up, including not-so-bad Sgt. Hank Voight, Chicago P.D. debuted in the winter of 2014. In 2015, a crew of nurses and doctors in Chicago became the adored Chicago Med, allowing for suspenseful crossovers with all our Chicago heroes. In winter 2017, we get to add Chicago Justice to the lineup. We were introduced to a few of the characters on Chicago P.D. back in May and this January we’ll get to follow the team of attorneys and investigators. Dick Wolf has made quite the production with NBC’s Chicago-based favorites that interlace and has the capability to take us from the original crime (typically arson), to the investigation (by the Intelligence Unit ran by Voight), to the survivors and the victims (shown through our group of nurses and doctors), and now all the way to the final conclusion where our new heroes will seek justice. 24: Legacy (Sundays on FOX) When FOX announced a 24 reboot, we immediately heard the “beep, beep, beep” counting down the seconds and our hearts leapt at the thought of Jack Bauer coming back into our televisions. However, as the network says, it is a new day and we have a new hero. Kiefer Sutherland is going to be an executive producer for at least the first episode, but our new hero is Eric Carter, portrayed by Corey Hawkins, a military hero arriving home to the U.S. with trouble right behind him. He comes to CTU (yes, it’s back!) for help protecting himself, while of course thwarting a terrorist attack. The update of an old favorite will abide by the same 24 hour, one hour = one episode, presentation as before so maybe we can look forward to the awesome countdowns each commercial break. Designated Survivor (Wednesdays on ABC) Just when your heart breaks that you won’t be seeing the original Bauer in the 24 reboot, your hopes are returned because he’ll be back in our lives with a new show and on this show, instead of helping the president, he is the president. In the new ABC show Designated Survivor, Kiefer Sutherland depicts Tom Kirkman, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, who becomes the president after an explosion eliminates everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession. He’s back, baby! This Is Us (Tuesdays on ABC) If you loved Parenthood, analysts say this show is what you’ve been waiting for. This Is Us follows a group of people who are linked by the fact that they celebrate the same birthday. Rebecca (depicted by Mandy Moore) and Jack (played by Milo Ventimiglia) are a couple getting ready to have three bundles of joy on Jack’s 36th birthday. Randall (depicted by Sterling K. Brown who just won an Emmy for his representation of Christopher Darden in The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) is a man celebrating his 36th birthday trying to decide whether or not he should make contact with his father who abandoned him when he was born. Kate (portrayed by Chrissy Metz) and Kevin (played by Justin Hartley) are twins who are spending their 36th birthday struggling with their unhappy lives, with Kate focusing on changing her eating habits and Kevin dissatisfied with his current job.
